Soulcalibur VI Collector’s Edition Review

Welcome to another video game Collector’s Edition review by yours truly, BloodOfTheNinja. Today we will be taking an In-depth review on the latest SoulCalibur game which was released on October 19, 2018 for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. I know, I know but Blood why are you posting such a late review. Well, I was at TwitchCon thats why. Anyhow back to the review *ahem*. Here we have a nice box adorned with Soulcalibur logo’s and usual brandings. The box is a flip top design and comes in at 15.5″L x 7.75″W x 8″H so it won’t take up any unnecessary space in your collection.      Inside the box its divided into two compartments. The right hand side will contain the game, Steelbook, and artbook and the left side the statue.

The steelbook has one of the best artcovers I have seen in a while and as an added bonus on the left hand side their is a small black button that when pressed will play one of 4 epic sound snippets from the game. Inside you will find the games Soundtrack on disk which is a pretty nice bonus. The game however is basic, no season pass included *shame…shame…shame…*. But hey, can’t win them all I guess. Next up is the 116 page hard cover artbook which goes into details about all your favorite characters. The quality of the artbook is pretty nice and I enjoyed the content so good job Bandai!
Last but not least is the 12″ Sophitia figure which is actually 14.5″ with sword in hand. The figure is surprisingly nicely detailed. The gold embellishments really pop out, however, I did kinda wish they added a bit more weight to the base since the figure weighs only 11.8 ounces total just to have that extra quality feel.

Overall, I was pretty pleased with this bread and butter Collector’s edition. For the $150 price tag you get the usual assortment of goodies (figure, soundtrack, artbook) that we all expect but no season pass was a big missed opportunity for the fans of the game. Therefore, this Collector’s receives a 7.25 out of 10 and I’d say Wait till the price drops so you can get the season pass alongside the Collector’s edition. If your wanting a quick purchase link here is one for Amazon.  Hope you enjoyed the review and as always Happy Gaming My Friends!
